4/22/2014

Well here we are at the Marriott for Medical Training.
We started training Monday AM and attend every day from 8:30 to about 4:30.
Monday was everything from soup to nuts. Tuesday was mostly about disease and parasites.
Sister Barney and I can hardly believe how smart these Elders and Sisters are that provide the training.
Most have not only excelled in their given fields, they have each served several missions also.
The Lord has truly provided the best to prepare us for whats ahead. It has also been nice to meet the persons that have been on the other end of the phone for the past few weeks.

Here are some catch-up pics from the past few days:

                                                          Attended the Provo Temple
Temple flowers and view of Utah Valley
Our room at he Marriott in SLC with all our bags
Same room different view...

I'll get some more shots today.

4/19/2014 Saturday

Well we had fun yesterday and today.
We finished Preach My Gospel training Friday at 3:15 and met with Lee, Pam, and Izaak McKenzie for a great dinner at the Sushi House. This morning we went through our bags and made sure they are OK as far as weight is concerned. 50 lbs per bag is the limit, or the airlines want your first born. We got our laundry done and hooked up with the Dunns at dinner, and they invited us to the BYU volleyball game with USC.
BYU wiped up of course. Then it was on to the "Ninth Street Creamery" for a little refreshment.
We are in our apartment now at 10:30.

Here are a few pics:
This was our district at the MTC
                                           Guess who...
                                           Freemans going to Martins Cove.
                                          Heiners going to Salem Oregon
                                           Nielsons going to North Carolina

The Dunns and Sister Barney walking to our seats at the Game.
BYU on the right and USC on the left. BYU smoked em...
Sister Barney and the Dunns, who are headed to Russia.
They are going to help us get our luggage up to the Marriott in Salt Lake, they are too kind.

Another day closer to Africa...

Today was a great day of lessons and roll-play, and working with Scripture Library on the Nexus.

Here are a few pics from around the MTC:
Her are some new arrivals taken behind the Dinning Hall

Mt. Timpanogas from our bedroom window.

I'll post some more when they arrive from heaven into the dropbox.

4/16/2014  Wednesday

Another fantastic day is complete. We got to teach a 45 min lesson to an investigator this morning, and all I can say is that Sister Barney and I make a great team.

Last night the devotional speaker was Elder Neal Anderson from the Quorum of the 12. Sister Barney was in the choir and they sounded really good. The devotional was broadcast to all of the MTC's around the world. Isn't technology handy.

We received our malaria training today and got enough drugs to last for two weeks. Yippy Skippy

Today was the day for new (young) missionaries to arrive. It was fun watching all the glazed but excited expressions.

When we go to the dinning hall, we always try to set with the young Elders and Sisters and hear their stories. That has been lots of fun and also inspirational. We have heard lots of cool stories, and Sister Barney loves to tell everyone where we are going. I must admit I thing it's really cool also.

Talk at you soon.
